The Biggest Loser: Final Four Revealed!

Last week was everyone’s favorite week on The Biggest Loser on NBC, but this week it is back to business. Tonight, Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will work the contestants very hard as two players will be eliminated by the evening’s end. So, who has what it takes to make it into the final four as the fight to the finale gets closer? Keep reading to find out who made it and who was sent home this week!

NBC’s The Biggest Loser kicks off tonight with some alliances getting stronger as Patrick, Frado and Brendan are determined to make it into the final four and vow not to vote each out. Then the remaining six contestants are greeted by Ali Sweeney and special guest Nastia Liukin, a five-time Olympic medalist and four-time World Champion gymnast who are there to inform them of their pop challenge this week. For this challenge, the players must complete 5 different exercises, with all but the slowest person moving on to the next leg of the challenge – and they did everything from rowing to running to Jacob’s ladder. Elizabeth was the first player knocked out, quickly followed by Mark who not keep up during the running leg.

With four players remaining in the pop challenge Ada could not keep up with the men during the rowing leg and she was the next eliminated. Frado was the next to be booted as he could not jump rope to save his life – well, he wasn’t that bad but he couldn’t keep up with the younger guys. Brendan and Patrick were the last two standing and battled it out on Jacob’s ladder but Brendan gained a head start and ended up winning. For winning this pop challenge, Brendan also won $10k and when asked what he was going to do with it, Brendan told Ali that he was going donate $1k to the Warriors in Pink in honor of Shanna, who did not make it to the ranch but is winning the battle with her breast cancer.

Next up on The Biggest Loser was an intense workout with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels who really kicked some players behinds’ tonight. But they also sat down and had a heart to heart with all the players to determine how they would cope once they left the ranch, and of course Bob and Jillian gave them words of encouragement. Later, Frado was visited by the doctor who was thrilled to inform Frado that he no longer needed any of his twelve medications as his diabetes was almost gone – kudos to Frado!

Then it was time for a good old favorite challenge where the contestants had to put all their weight back on and take it off in increments as they accomplished a milestone. This time, the theme was the stair stepper and a run just as they did during the auditions. Ada blew everyone away and ended up winning this challenge as well as gaining a one pound advantage for the weigh in this week. Finally they had their final last chance workout with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels who once worked them extra hard but then it was time to reveal the final four. Here is how the contestants fared at the weigh in this week:

From 299 lbs to 292 for a total loss of 7 lbs (2.34%)

from 185 lbs to 179 lbs for a total loss of 6 lbs (3.78%) * had 1 lb advantage

from 265 lbs to 260 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs (%) * fell below the red line

from 196 lbs to 192 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs (2.04%)

from 263 lbs to 248 lbs for a total loss of 15 lbs (5.70%)

from 291 lbs to 279 lbs for a total loss of 12 lbs (4.12%)

So first up, Brendan in a shocker fell below the red line – I am not sure about you, I was certain we would see him in the finale. After Brendan’s emotional goodbyes to everyone, it was time to eliminate one of the two players below the yellow line, which were Mark and Elizabeth. They both pleaded their cases, and they showed Patrick saying that Mark should be the one to stay since he worked so hard, yet Patrick voted Mark out in the elimination room. Actually both Ada and Patrick voted for Mark (we didn’t get to see Frado’s vote) and you could see that Mark was hurt. Patrick assured Mark that it was nothing personal, but Mark thought Patrick had his back when indeed Patrick was only out for himself.

Both Brendan and Mark are doing well at home though. Brendan to date has lost over 120 lbs and is down to 237 lbs. he is enjoying being happy and has entered the dating scene confident. He is also continuing his work with the inner city kids, with a lot more confidence now that he has lost so much. Mark to date has lost over 170 lbs as he is now down to 248 lbs and has moved from NJ to AZ to live with his cousin, who lost 100 lbs at home on her own. While they enjoy a healthy lifestyle there, Mark has also met up with season nine contestant Sunshine for workouts and inspiration. I can’t wait to see these two hard working guys at the finale!
